The Dow Chemical Company has an opportunity for anAnalytical TechnologistinCarrollton, KY.
The Analytical Technologist performs both routine and non-routine analyses on process and product samples utilizing various techniques (Gas Chromatograph, GC/MS, HPLC, Viscometers, Atomic Absorption, pH, etc.) The Technologist implements new test procedures and improves existing procedures to facilitate process understanding and to meet customer requirements. The technologist interprets analytical test data and makes recommendations to customers to resolve and prevent quality issues.
Applies 5S principles to maintain a clean and safe laboratory.
Characterizes sample composition (both process and product) accurately.
Implements new test methods and improves current methods to meet customer needs.
Works closely with the Operations Team to aid in process improvements and problem resolution.
Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies.
Troubleshoots analytical equipment problems and performs basic maintenance.
Coaches Lab Analysts in proper testing technique and basic troubleshooting.
Calibrates equipment as necessary and maintains calibration records.
Ensures accuracy of test results through the use of statistical techniques (SPC).
Makes recommendations for new equipment and testing requirements to the Analytical Specialist.
Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Bachelors degree in Chemistry.
2 or more years of Analytical Lab experience.
Experience using SAP.
- High School diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of 20 hours of college chemistry is required.
