Dow Chemical Account Manager - Chicago in Chicago, Illinois

Dow Chemicalhas an opportunity for a North America sales representative located in the Midwest and Central regions. The sales representative is responsible for maintaining and growing sales that align with Dow's market strategies for silicon-based materials, with primary focus in the market segments of personal care, coatings, and chemical manufacturing.

This position will interface with strategic distributors with direct customer responsibility as well. The sales territory is primarily IL, WI, MN, IA, IN, MO, KS.

The preferred location of residency is in the Chicago, IL area and is flexible.

Primary Responsibilities:*

  • Builds and manages relationships at strategic distributors and customers.

  • Develops and implements strategic selling plans to optimize sales growth.

  • Manages a robust and active opportunity portfolio.

  • Understands market strategies and develops tactics to implement.

  • Monitors and understands market trends, customer needs and competitive activity within the territory and shares among market teams on a regular basis.

  • Manages distribution within geography. These activities can include: leveraging distribution at strategic customers, driving sample follow-up and opportunity development/closure, reviewing sales performance for current business, providing application and technical training, helping drive corporate initiatives (i.e. market promotions, pricing) throughout the regional distribution organization.

  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other methods to manage a healthy growth portfolio.

  • Works closely with technical service professionals, commercial management, marketing, and customer service to establish the priorities and support needed to close new business.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree. Technical and/or marketing/business degrees are preferred.

• Prior experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
