Dow Chemical Site Logistics Activity Coordinator and Production Coordinator in Dalton, Georgia
The Dow Chemical Company inDalton, Georgiahas an exciting opportunity for aSite Logistics Activity Coordinator and Production Coordinatorfor the STYROFOAM® plant.
Understand the logistics plan and requirements, in order to anticipate short and long term Material Flow needs, and apply the resources to work accordingly.
Work with the Activity Scheduling role to optimize the scheduling plan.
Asset utilization focal point for managing Site Logistics assets
Act as liaison between Manage Production and Material Flow activities.
Participate on Order Fulfillment cross-functional teams.
Initiate Management of Change (MOC) process if changes to operating discipline are identified.
Focal Point for specialized and unique storage requirements within individual business.
Coordinate and facilitate non-routine movements of load/unload activities involving all MOT types.
Identify constraints and/or restrictions that may impact the ability to fulfill work requests. Facilitate the resolution process when production, packaging, blending, storing, loading, unloading, or tank transfer delays occur.
Provide coaching to loading/unloading personnel.
Track, improve, and coach others on execution of work performance metrics.
Ensure Prime Inventory Management – including visual inspections.
Assigning Storage locations / bays.
Raw Material Planning.
Cycle Count Management.
Manage QC on out-going loads.
Works with the Business Production Planning and Schedule Execution to optimize the long-term production schedule.
Understands the Business needs relating to production and translates these Business production goals into plant production goals.
Works with Integrated Supply Chain to ensure plant needs are met. (I.e. Production planning, product shipping, raw materials).
Determines shutdown timing with, Production Planning, Start Up/Shutdown Coordination, Operate Plant Activity Coordination and other Expertise Centers.
Assists in the development of the plant specific Business rules for “Produce to Plan / Record Production Data” and ensures plant procedures are developed and used to apply the defined Business rules.
Works with Schedule Execution to resolve exceptions to production schedules, which are not covered by Business rules; communicate with partners, facilitates the resolution, understands impact on customer and develops the plan of action.
Ensures production metrics/measurements, required by the work processes, are collected to track work process performance as per Business rules.
Ensures effective measurement tools are in place to track production yields, raw material conversion and asset utilization.
Coaches plant personnel on measurement tools and daily updates of performance records and business measurements. (E.g. Producer, money meter, conversion costs, % prime, etc.)
1 or more years of experience in an Logistic role.
Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.

Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.
Demonstrates excellent decision making skills, ability to prioritize appropriately.
Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
Current, valid US drivers license.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Associates degree or higher.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Experience working in a Manufacturing / Industrial environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
