- The Dow Chemcial Company * has an exciting and challenging opportunity for aSupply Chain Improvement Managerlocated in Houston, TX.
The role is responsible to lead, identify, assess, and optimize the material flow and risk trade-offs across the supply chain at a tactical or strategic level . The Supply Chain function has the responsibility involved in the moving, handling and storing of chemicals and products in a safe and secure manner that complies with regulatory requirements and in an efficient way.
Responsibilities include: *
Lead on a large scale, identify, assess, and optimize the material flow and risk trade-offs across the supply chain at a tactical or strategic level (inventory, purchasing costs, production costs, logistics costs, product quality, asset utilization, productivity and customer service)
Optimize or design supply chain infrastructures (distribution networks, plant locations, outsourcing)
Identify and assist in the implementation of optimum inventory levels that balance costs with business strategic initiatives
Participate on supply chain strategy development, including customer/product mix analysis, customer/product segmentation, channels-to-market, capital investment, and sourcing decisions
Optimize or lead the development of supply chain work processes, business rules, and establish metrics in the areas of forecasting/demand planning, production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment and the S&OP process
Apply supply chain most effective technology (MET) and best practices during business projects
Support the design and optimization of supply chains through the use of optimization tools (linear programming, spreadsheet analysis)
Test supply chain design scenarios, process variability and trade-offs through modeling techniques (simulation)
Act as an emerging or knowledgeable contact in the areas of project management, supply chain optimization tools, approaches and methods
Manage cross-functional projects and relationships
Leverage internal consulting skills, communications and project methodologies
Participate on or lead cross-functional team projects
Apply MET Planning technology (ECC, APO tool suite, Logility DP and MP) to continuously improve planning and scheduling.
Apply MET SC automation technology to reduce lag time and real time information in supply chain.
Apply Integrated Business Planning (IBP) concepts to improving business processes towards maturity for Supply/Demand/Reconciliation.
Manage cross functional projects to improve Packaging and Specialty Plastics end to end customer fulfillment experience.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
Must be able to manage multiple projects
Technical proficiency in the use of computer applications, and sound analytical skills are necessary.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related Sciences
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain operations
Experience with Logility, ECC and APO
Experience with Oliver Wight IBP methodology
APICS CPIM Certification
The critical competencies required for success are Interpersonal Effectiveness, Initiative, Value Creation, and Supply Chain Management.
Experience with Access DB, skills with managing large amounts of data effectively
