Dow Chemical Production Engineer in Midland, Michigan
The Dow Chemical Company is now hiring for a Production Engineer in the Phenoxies Plant (948 Building) at its Michigan Operations site in Midland, Michigan. The purpose of this role is to provide a technical resource to assist work teams on daily operations improvements in the areas of quality, cost performance, delivery reliability and full participation with Environmental, Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.
Work with plant personnel to optimize operations, meet Business and plant goals (production, cost, quality).
Participates in advanced troubleshooting and coaches others to learn these skills.
Implements best practices in engineering in order to optimize operations.
Attain a full understanding of Dow's Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to translate them to implementation in the plant.
Lead operations' drive to zero (zero injuries and zero unplanned events).
Ensures Most Effective Technology (MET) and specific Operating Discipline requirements are in place.
Understands and applies skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products.
Communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel, technology or expertise centers.
Participates on and leads teams in his/her area of accountability.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required; Chemical Engineering background/degree is preferred.
Three years manufacturing experience is required; experience in a chemical manufacturing facility is highly desired.
Domestic relocation is supported with this role.
