The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse in Mt. Meigs, Alabama. If you have a passion for providing clinical and preventive health services to clients in an industrial setting, then Dow Chemical wants to talk to you!
Dow Health Care Services provides services to meet regulatory requirements and provide necessary occupational health care that reduces workplace health risks and improves employee capability and performance. Health Care Services also provides treatment for occupational injury or illness to employees, provides Case Management services to facilitate return to work following absence for personal or work related health conditions, as well as expertise for Medical Review Boards. In addition, they provide other occupationally necessary services - fitness for duty, workplace restrictions/accommodations, company business travel counseling, immunizations such as "flu shots", and other Dow or regulatory required services.
A successful candidate will be an independent and organized member of the occupational health team to provide clinical, health assessment, and preventive health services for Dow employees and specified contract employees. Other responsibilities include:
Provide clinical care: Management of work-related injuries and illnesses, as well as limited personal injuries and illnesses within the scope of practice
Implement medical surveillance programs, provide health assessment services and develop the specific Health Assessment Programs plan for assigned employee groups
Provide health education and counseling and support delivery of the sites' preventive wellness services
Participate in the management and administration of the occupational health services environment.
Participate in the development and implementation of Health Services programs and plans
Case Management of work related and non-work related injury/illnesses
Bachelors of Nursing degree (BSN) or equivalent
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama or able to meet Alabama reciprocity requirements.
One to five years of clinical experience required
Experience in audiometric testing, spirometry, DOT standards, drug testing, and BAT.
BLS/ACLS up to date
This position requires the candidate to be able to participate in a shared on-call rotation
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card).
Previous experience in occupational health is highly desirable but not required.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing is preferred, but not required.
