Dow Chemical Project Controls Scheduling Specialist in Niedersachsen, Germany

The company is looking for candidates who are interested to join as aProject Controls Scheduling Specialist (m/f)based inthe Engineering Department inStade,Germany.

Purpose of this job:

According to the business and functional objectives the incumbent works under the guidance of the Engineering Department Leader and Project Manager. He/she provides knowledge, skills and expertise to capital and expense projects and supports the plant/maintenance personnel. In this functionality the incumbent identifies and implements engineering services and solutions.

Main Responsibilities are:

  • Developing the initial integrated master project schedule by utilizing Primavera (Oracle) and using project information from major project documents and in cooperation with the project team and stakeholders

  • Develops and maintains schedules pro-active for multiple projects

  • Validation of Master Project Schedule by utilizing different tools and on own experiences

  • Responsible to keep track on project milestones and progress

  • Participates and/or leads schedule planning sessions during the project duration

  • Performs critical path analysis to establish the critical path for the project lead

  • Continues to develop the master project schedule to include: Front-end Loading, Detail Design, Long Lead or Critical to Design Procurement Orders, Construction by Contract and

  • Start-up and Commissioning activities to achieve Release to Operations date (RTO)

  • Utilizes project cost and engineering hours estimates (Unit Work Books) to establish resource loaded project schedules

  • Develops and maintains an engineering progress/staffing curve

  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking

  • Performs staffing density checks or staffing limitation checks to validate Design and Construction schedule durations

  • Prepares deliverables to support Business and Benchmarking Reviews

  • Calculates and delivers Project Schedule Key Performance Indicators

  • Maintains a summary level schedule including all active projects of the site and supports project portfolio management.

  • Candidates are required to have a Master degree preferred in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Project Engineering, Project Management or Project Control in the Process Industry

  • Good communication skills with high interpersonal effectiveness (team player)

  • Good knowledge of Project Controls practices

  • Good knowledge in preparing control documents

  • German and English language skills (fluent communication in spoken and written German and preferably English)

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Primavera, MS Project and other planning tools

  • Knowledge of Project Engineering practices is beneficial

  • Broad knowledge of typical equipment for chemical and process industrial plants and project execution

  • Ability to support business travel is required

  • Ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously is needed
