TheDow Chemical Companyhas an exciting job opportunity as aMaintenance Coordinator and Planner inPittsburg, CA. The Maintenance Coordinator and Planner develops, plans and schedules Global Mechanical integrity safety standard (GMISS) PPM activities that are required to support the maintenance strategy the meets the needs of the business employing long term cost of ownership principles.
Provides input into the development of the maintenance strategy on those issues dealing with Preventative/Predictive Maintenance (PPM).
Insures that scheduled services are entered into the maintenance system based upon the development of the maintenance strategy or reviews of new equipment that is being installed.
Serves as the subject matter expert during root cause investigations where PPM practices has been identified as a potential cause.
Identifies and sets up training necessary to support the individuals that maybe performing the individual PPM tasks.
Tracks compliance of completion of PPM tasks and advises the Plant Leadership and Reliability Engineer of other issues impacting the effectiveness of the PPM program.
Insures that documentation of findings of PPM activities are properly documented in the maintenance system so that evaluations can be done based on data and execute appropriate corrective actions based on deficiencies found.
Identifies opportunities to extend PPM intervals and works with the reliability engineer to evaluate the impact of changing PPM intervals based upon probability and consequences i.e. risk.
Updates the maintenance system for new equipment.
Work with inspectors to plan, schedule and execute PPM tasks.
Help develop, maintain and execute work process to track and record PPM inspections.
Train others on the PPM work processes.
Print PPM job packets for “Do Workers”.
Administration of PPM job packets.
Assist other planners with PPM inspections assigned to them (Internal Inspections).
Order materials and obtain purchase orders needed for PPM tasks.
Work with turn around group and plants on future scheduling of PPM tasks.
Maintenance Focal Point on PPM tasks and work processes.

A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a chemical or refining manufacturing facility required.
Experience in and understanding of the flow of maintenance work in various crafts.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent verbal / written communication skills.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish tasks.
Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and facilitate decision – making in high stress turnaround environment
Have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
Must be willing and able to wear safety personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Must be willing and able to climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
5 years of maintenance craft experience or exposure to maintenance work in a refining or petrochemical environment is preferred.
Experience in planning maintenance jobs is highly preferred.
Experience using SAP in maintenance planning is also preferred.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
