Dow Chemical Residential Account Manager in Quebec, Canada
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for a Residential Account Manager located in Quebec. This position is responsible for managing existing and new customer relationships. The Account Manager sells Dow products and solutions while identifying new opportunities for unmet customer needs - driving profitable business growth.
The incumbent is expected to increase sales and market share of Dow Building Solutions (DBS) Products at strategic identified building supply dealers in the province of Ontario. In addition, conversion of key dealers to Dow products as well as the ongoing account management for existing current building supply dealer network. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the efforts of Canadian Distribution Partners (Canwel and Taiga) branch management and territory managers to ensure dealer account management and growth acquisition.
This role will include the following:
All demand creation activities at strategic lumber and building supply dealers in Quebec. This includes pricing, training, and support of all builder/contractor activities to help drive demand.
Responsibility for Canadian Residential distribution partner (Canwel and Taiga) locations in the province of Quebec
Incumbent will be the “local contact” for national buying group account regional managers for: Rona, BMR, Timber Mart, Home Hardware, Castle and others.
Develop, communicate and execute accounts plans for all strategic building supply dealers within their assigned territory and for the Quebec branches of distribution partners. This information will all be captured and kept up to date in the Dow Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
Capture and maintain timely data on all interactions at strategic dealers. To be captured in Dow CRM tool
Develop, communicate and execute against tactical implementation account plans that support the business objectives for all National distributor locations in their area
Responsible for activities with respect to owning the flow of DBS products through the residential Lumber & Building Materials (LBM) channel, including:
o Pricing activities
o Help coordinate and drive conversion activities between the building supply dealer and local distribution branches
o Internet based training (WebEx) for both dealer staff and distribution sellers
o Industry and National Buying Group Shows
o Account targeting and joint travel if productive and necessary
o Accountable for coordinating resolution at the dealer and builder/contractor level for product quality and applications issues as they arise
Responsible for identifying, meeting with and understanding strengths and weaknesses of competitive distribution within assigned territory .
Provide input to the Sales Leader, Market Manager, and Application Technology Leader (ATL) on a regular basis relative to needs, trends, and opportunities for these customer groups
o For example, learn what our distributors know about competitive products
- Required to have regular and on-going communications with team members including Canadian National Account Manager (NAM) to ensure strategies are locally implemented, and customer service ensure strategic dealer expectations are met.
o 70% for account management activities with strategic dealers and regional Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
o 20% management of Quebec Distribution Locations & Buying Group regional managers
o 10% focus on builder/contractor conversions, training, and presentations

Fully Bilingual in French and English, both verbal and written
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Basic construction industry knowledge or a basic understanding of Building Science
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
Dynamic presentation skills
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company support or sponsorship.
Knowledge of (or ability to learn) appropriate areas of the Quebec Residential Building Code
Understanding of Business Reporting Tools
