Dow Chemical Production Scheduler in Ringwood, Illinois
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for a Production Scheduler in Ringwood, IL. The purpose of this job is to balance supply and demand for the Ringwood Manufacturing Site for the Adhesives Supply Chain Organization within the Performance Plastics Division.
Resolve supply-demand issues created by competing priorities including raw materials.
Create production and packaging schedules for the Ringwood site in order to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization, and supply chain efficiencies including raw materials.
Serve as a local site coordinator/planner for raw materials.
Develop, update, and monitor performance of proper product schedule sequencing for each plant reactor to ensure efficient operations.
Resolve supply-demand issues created by competing priorities including working directly with the business and customer service to resolve conflicts.
Responsible for building scenarios of production and supply chain capabilities and limitations.
Maintain and execute planning and scheduling within SAP (maintain and create material masters, work centers, routings; review MRP exceptions; create planned orders, work directly with customer service to address orders to align them to the production schedule).
Monitor aged/blocked inventory and maintain at target levels including intermediates and raw materials.
If needed, develop exchange, swap and toll agreements.
Provide input to and participate as required in the Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process.
Track key performance metrics, supply chain performance data, and generate improvement opportunities.
Support supply chain initiatives by interfacing with other supply chain personnel in the business and shared services.
Lead/participate in improvement initiatives to deliver improved performance and lowest cost to serve.
Provide raw material forecast procurement and suppliers.
Work with purchasing on optimum vender sourcing, new material contracts, etc.
Provide back-up for other roles within NAA supply chain.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must be proficient in SAP or similar software systems.
Must be able to learn new computer systems quickly.
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, managing multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
Must be able to work in an empowered team environment, as well as be able to work independently.
Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
An Associate or Higher degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or related field, or four (4) or more years of military training/experience in Supply Chain field, is an asset.
APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification is an asset.
Previous experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment is an asset.
- High school diploma or GEDANDat least five (5) years of experience in a Manufacturing role or Supply Chain role is required.
- An Associate or higher degree, or four (4) or more years of military training/experience,ANDat least three (3) years of experience in a Manufacturing role or Supply Chain role is required.
