Dow Chemical TS&D Engineer in Shanghai, China
The role will be responsible to provide technical service and new application development for release coating and PSA in pressure sensitive industry.
Provide the product recommendation, application formulation fine-tuning upon existing products for particular customer needs and on-site trial support for identified customer opportunity.
Trouble-shooting support for the customer quality complain by working with commercial team, plant, supplier chain and quality organization.
It will cover the identification and execution of customer opportunity by working with marketing and commercial organization; interfacing with the regional and global TS&D for development work new product scale-up
Hands-on: It will also include lab work for the technical service and application development, lab equipment maintenance and management, lab capability build-up, etc.;
T ravel for this role is expected to be at 30%.
Master degree in Polymer Science/Material Science/Chemical Engineering or related disciplines is required.
Prior experience in a similar position (at least 3-5 years), good knowledge in polymer chemistry, adhesives basics, applications of adhesives, etc.
Work experience in application development in Pressure Sensitive Industry or related industry (tape, label, PSA) is a plus.
Business sense: Able to understand customer needs and define customer needs where a new product is required.
Passion and Motivation: Must be self-motivated, looking for new applications or improving in current applications.
Good communication and customer facing skills:” Must be able to make presentations to customers in public seminars or organized training for either internal or external customers in a professional manner.
Good team work with cross functional team: Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds (sales, marketing, R&D, product stewards).
Language Skills – English and Chinese.
