Dow Chemical Production Engineer in Texas City, Texas
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Production Engineer. This position will be located in the SynGas Plant in Texas City, TX.
The successful candidate will provide daily technical support and advanced troubleshooting to Operations in order to run the facility safely in an environmentally sound way at optimum capability.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Measure, track, and improve key performance indicators for the plant.
Full understanding of Dow's Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures with the ability to translate them to implementation in the plant.
Lead Operations' Drive to Zero initiative (zero injuries and zero unplanned events) by participating in EH&S programs, positively influencing the operations culture, and taking prompt action on safety concerns.
Lead the identification, prioritization and implementation of process and operating discipline improvements to enhance EH&S, compliance, reliability, and cost efficiency performance.
Lead Root Cause Investigations to resolve EH&S, downtime, reliability or quality issues.
Assist in the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of operating discipline documentation.
Serve as Process Safety Focal Point.
Execute six sigma projects and/or serve on teams in area of responsibility.
Defines project scopes for capital and expense projects.
Fills the improvement project pipeline.
Leads project teams in developing and meeting team-specific project deliverables including EH&S goals, quality, cycle time, cost effectiveness, & operability. Use engineering skills and resources to develop low cost, innovative alternatives for projects.
Effectively communicates project opportunities, economics, and potential risks to ensure projects are properly prioritized. Documents & communicates project updates
Fulfill the manufacturing representative and/or project manager roles.
Strong problem solving skills are required.
Excellent communication skills are required.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
3 years of manufacturing or engineering experience is preferred
Project management experience is preferred.
Experience with Apollo Root Cause Analysis is preferred.
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
Chemical Engineering is preferred
