The Dow Chemical Company has a challenging opportunity within the HR Department for anHR Generalist, to be located inTerneuzen, the Netherlands.

A skilled and motivated workforce is essential for Dow to deliver against its strategic business objectives and the HR function is key in helping establishing that workforce. As an HR Generalist you will become a member of the HR team that serves clients in the Benelux. The total group consists of 11 team members. As part of this team you will be responsible for servicing your specific set of clients (certain business units) and delivering high quality HR solutions based on their specific needs. The mix of HR technology and HR operations is a perfect combination to familiarize you with Dow globally and the Benelux region specifically. You will be working with best in class global programs. Taking initiative is essential in this role.

Key roles & Responsibilities

Your prime responsibilities will be:

  • Delivery of high quality HR service to support the business driven HR needs of your clients, this includes being the HR counterpart for leaders in the Benelux in relation to all aspects of employee management, such as: recruiting, people development, change management, organizational reviews etc.

  • You ensure successful local implementation and application of HR policies and programs and develop implementation of local policies that are aligned with global HR policies and work processes

  • You set goals to improve the existing HR policies and programs.

  • You actively participate in HR projects including those that have an EMEAI impact.

For this challenging and exciting role we are looking for candidates that meet the following requirements:

  • Preferably Master’s Degree in relevant area

  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in Human Resources

  • Knowledge of Dutch labor law. Knowledge of Belgian labor law is an advantage.

  • High interest to work with people and to be part of delivery and designing HR programs and policies that help shape and develop the workforce for Dow that will deliver its short and long term business goals

  • High level of initiative, take ownership and responsibility for the job, comfortable with proposing new goals

  • Excellent communication, ability to have 2 way communications to all levels in the organization, comfortable to deal with groups, clear and crisp verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
