Dow Chemical PU Account Manager in Guangdong, China

Polyurethanes is one of the global business units belonging to Performance Materials. This GBU was formed through combining heritage core-Polyurethanes and heritage Dow Formulation Systems in November 2013. PU business will have quite large capacity of polyol and isocyanates, which are key products to be sold as well as raw material for system, in 2015 through SADARA. The business is seeking a strong candidate of account manager to achieve the highly challenging business goals based on above large projects through focusing on multiple market segment (customer comfort, appliances, adhesive/sealants and energy efficiency).

The candidate is required to understand variety of polyurethanes products including component and system products, targeted segment application knowledge and develop strong network with strategic and key accounts who are critical piece of long-term growth achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for existing account management as well as new customer development within PU portfolio.

  • Achieve 2018 plan (volume, revenue) through sales to exiting accounts and materializing selling projects.

  • Develop strong network with strategic and key accounts to maximize our position for SADARA.

  • Closely work with relevant TS, Marketing manager, Product manager, CSR and Supply Chain as well as other commercial members to clarify future opportunity, business risk and take the best option for business.

  • Manage channel partners and distributors, by setting the annual goals and tracking progress.

  • Be accountable for key internal process including forecast update/deviation check, price update, selling projects update.

Education Background and Experience Requirements

• A university bachelor degree or higher in chemical engineering or chemistry is preferred.

• Excellent English speaking/writing skill

• Sales experience of more than 2 years

• Better to have experience in PU industry


• Ability to analyze market and link to strategic selling.

• Aggressive and inspired on market/account development

• Team player with leadership potential.

• Enthusiastic and self motivated.
